Fabian Velazquez is proof that when you grow up around Fords, the love for the Blue Oval is simply inevitable. Hailing from a background in construction, Fabian’s knack for problem solving and hands-on work has fuelled his approach to modding cars—one bolt, one upgrade, and one project at a time.
Meet “Pollito”: Fabian’s 2017 Focus ST
Nicknamed “Pollito” (Spanish for “little chick”), Fabian’s 2017 Ford Focus ST is more than just a daily driver—it’s a rolling reflection of passion and perseverance. With plans to transform it into a full street/show/track weapon, Fabian’s build journey is just beginning, and he’s enjoying every mile of it.
While it still runs close to stock at 250hp, some key mods are already in place:
- BC Racing Coilovers for a dialled-in stance and cornering performance
- Fifteen52 Tarmac wheels, bringing rally-bred energy to the street
- Exhaust & Air Intake Upgrades, adding attitude to Pollito’s tone and response
“I’m working through worn-out parts and planning a front-end swap next,” Fabian says, proving that patience and passion make the perfect combo.
Built with Grit, Driven with Heart
Balancing life as a construction professional, Fabian applies his trade skills to the world of wrenching. Fabrication, repairs, and custom tweaks come naturally, helping him chip away at each phase of the build—even without outside help or tuning shops.
When asked about what keeps him inspired, Fabian simply nods to the Mustang heritage, a legacy that shaped his early love for performance and style. “I remember seeing my first Shelby as a kid,” he recalls. “That was the moment it clicked.”
Big Dreams on a Clean Platform
The goal for “Pollito”? A future-ready build pushing around 400whp, full bolt-ons, and a custom front-end conversion to complete the aesthetic overhaul.
Despite the roadblocks and occasional worn component, Fabian’s mantra remains grounded: “Expect breakdowns.” It’s not a warning, but a badge of honour—reminding builders that the tough moments are part of the journey.
Advice from Fabian
“Daily drive as a hobby, and enjoy the hard work you put into your build,” he says. “It’s all worth it when you see it come together.”
Keep an Eye Out
Fabian might not be part of a club yet, but you’ll spot Pollito around El Paso soon enough—coilovers tucked, wheels spinning, and that unmistakable Focus ST silhouette chasing the next mod.
