FORD FAM FEATURE: NIKITA BURIACHENKO – DIESEL POWER FROM KYIV

Kyiv-based professional footballer Nikita Buriachenko keeps things OEM with his 2014 Ford Mondeo—a 200HP diesel street machine with over 400,000km and counting.

Driver Introduction

Name: Nikita Buriachenko
Location: Kyiv, Ukraine
Profession: Professional Footballer

Nikita’s story is born from legacy—his family has been loyal to the blue oval for over 20 years. From Sierra and Scorpio classics to modern Mondeos, Ford has always been more than a brand in the Buriachenko household—it’s been a symbol of reliability, identity, and pride. Even while building a career as a professional athlete, Nikita’s free time is often spent learning the technical ins-and-outs of every model that’s come through the family driveway.

The Vehicle: 2014 Ford Mondeo MK4

Nickname: None (but unmistakably clean)
Build Goal: Street

With over 405,000 kilometers on the clock, Nikita’s Mondeo is a testament to Ford’s longevity. The car is kept in remarkably fresh factory condition, with just a select few OEM-style upgrades—highlighted by a unique set of original Ford wheels and a Bosch brake setup that’s built to last. For Nikita, this isn’t about outrageous modifications—it’s about preserving excellence.

Modifications & Performance

Engine & Performance:

  • Stock 2.2 TDCi
  • 200 HP / 430 Nm
  • 0–60 in approximately 8.0 seconds

Suspension & Brakes:

  • Factory Suspension
  • Bosch Braking System

Wheels:

  • Swapped for rare OEM Ford alloys

While tuning and heavy mods are on hold due to the high mileage, this diesel-powered sedan still delivers punchy performance, a smooth ride, and unbeatable reliability.

Challenges & Highlights

Despite Ukraine not having a strong car community scene, Nikita’s passion burns strong. His love for Fords was nurtured by time spent in auto garages with his father, learning, observing, and eventually driving.

Biggest challenge? Surprisingly none—“It’s a Ford, not a VW,” he jokes. His long-term goal is simple: keep it clean, keep it true. Minor updates like a black ST-line grille and active suspension tweaks are on the horizon, but the dream is already building toward the next Ford—a Focus MK3 RS.

Looking Ahead

  • ST-line visual tweaks
  • Suspension refresh
  • Bigger brake setup
  • Focus RS MK3 project in the works

Words of Wisdom

“Ford cars don’t need extreme styling. They leave the factory already looking sharp. But if you want to turn yours into a rocket—go for it.”

Nikita believes in building smart—performance and longevity over flash—and above all, staying true to what works.

Closing Thoughts

“What you do with Ford Fam is truly worthy of attention and respect. I’ve never been part of a car community before—but I’d love to start now. I want to share my thoughts, connect, and grow with like-minded enthusiasts.”

We’re proud to welcome Nikita and his Mondeo into the fold—showing that passion knows no borders, and Ford pride is global.
