Owen from Wellingborough wasn’t always passionate about cars. It wasn’t until he bought his 2017 Ford Fiesta and started to get bored that things changed. One day, he decided to pick up a few small mods, and before he knew it, he was hooked. From that moment on, his build became an evolving project, constantly pushing boundaries and exploring new ideas.
From Property Services to Car Projects
By profession, Owen runs his own property services business. Being hands-on by nature has made him comfortable with working on his car, and he takes pride in doing most of the modifications himself. For him, it’s a blend of passion and practicality. His biggest inspirations come from social media and the support of his girlfriend, as well as seeing other people’s unique car builds.
From Stock to Showstopper
When it comes to his 2017 Fiesta, Owen had one goal: to make it a show car. While the build has taken time and effort, Owen never lost sight of his vision. One of the most eye-catching features is the complete boot build, which houses three 1500W subwoofers. Whether at a meet or just cruising, it’s always a showstopper.
The full body kit gives the Fiesta an aggressive stance, while the performance upgrades ensure it doesn’t just look good — it drives well, too. Owen has fitted an Airtec induction kit, a VUDU short shifter, a fog light intake, and a full Cobra catback exhaust system. Together, these upgrades have boosted the car’s output to an impressive 235 bhp.
Handling and Aesthetic Upgrades
To improve grip and handling, Owen chose H&R 40mm lowering springs and a custom steering wheel for better control. One of his proudest additions is the Bola B1 wheels paired with EBC drilled and grooved discs and Yellow Stuff pads. These not only add to the car’s aesthetic appeal but also provide reliable braking power.
A Balancing Act
One of the biggest challenges Owen faced was finding time to work on the car while managing his business and home life. His advice to other Ford owners? “Don’t give up. Stick with it.” Balancing work, life, and car projects isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it when the final product brings a smile every time he steps inside.
Car Culture and Community
Owen doesn’t just build cars — he shares his passion with others. He co-owns FEZGXNG with his friend Laura, and they’re both dedicated to creating a space where car enthusiasts can come together. At meets, Owen’s boot build always draws a crowd. There’s just something special about seeing people’s reactions when they first hear the massive sound system.
When asked about what’s next, Owen’s eyes light up. His ultimate goal is to push the car’s performance to 300+ bhp. He’s planning further upgrades and looking forward to more shows and events. The best part of building and owning this car? The smile it puts on people’s faces and the friendships formed along the way.
Message to the Ford Fam Community
Owen keeps his message simple: “Just do you, who cares what others think.” In a world where opinions can hold you back, he believes in staying true to your vision. Whether it’s a show car or a track build, your car is a reflection of who you are — and that’s what makes it special.
