FORD FAM FEATURE: RYAN BARCLAY – BUILDING ‘STORM’, THE FUTURE STREET-WARRIOR ST200

meet@storm200st
From Supercar Sundays to backroad blasts, Ryan Barclay’s ST200 is at the starting line of something big. Meet Storm, the street-focused Fiesta build that’s about to bring thunder to the East Midlands.

Driver Introduction

📍 Location: East Midlands, UK
👨‍🔧 Profession: Apprentice Technician, Mercedes-Benz
📸 Social: @storm200st

From Mustang rallies and Supercar Sundays to spirited backroad blasts, Ryan’s been drawn to the sound and soul of cars since childhood. Films like Fast & Furious and games like Forza and NFS added fuel to the fire. But it was his first car—a Fiesta Zetec S Red Edition—that really set the tone.

Fast-forward to today, and Ryan’s behind the wheel of his dream daily: a 2016 Fiesta ST200 he calls Storm. With his mechanical skills growing daily through his Mercedes-Benz apprenticeship, Ryan’s perfectly positioned to bring this build to life.

The Car: 2016 Fiesta ST200 – “Storm”

Goal: A balanced street/show car that’s as fun to drive as it is to look at.

The plan? Style meets substance. Ryan isn’t after a garage queen—he wants a car that turns heads at meets but still makes every B-road blast memorable. His ST200 might be stock for now, but the vision is anything but ordinary.

Performance Upgrades Coming Soon:

Challenges and Mindset

So far, the biggest challenge has been staying patient. Ryan’s focus is on planning smart, budgeting well, and making sure each mod fits the big picture. He’s not just building a car—he’s building experience, knowledge, and community connections every step of the way.

“Budget and time are key. I’d rather do it right than rush it. Research is everything.”

Lifestyle and Community Vibes

While Ryan isn’t yet part of any car clubs, he’s been soaking up inspiration from the wider community—especially online.

“Whether it’s YouTubers like Matt Armstrong or local enthusiasts on Instagram, seeing their builds keeps me motivated.”

A favorite moment so far? Tearing up some backroads with a mate. Nothing fancy—just good cars, good vibes, and that unmistakable ST feeling.

Future Outlook

🔧 Next Mods: Wheels, coilovers, lowline kit, and induction
🚗 Events: Meets and shows once the car’s built out
🎯 Long-term Goal: A fast, capable street machine that stays true to its roots

Closing Thoughts from Ryan

“Enjoy your build, no matter what stage you’re at. Everyone starts somewhere. There’s no right or wrong way to do it—just make it yours.”
