From Crashes to Comebacks: Steven’s Ford Journey

Steven Mansfield’s passion for Ford didn’t happen overnight — it sparked about six years ago when a friend’s influence and a 2011 Ford Focus showed him the world of car modification. After a Fiesta ZS mishap, Steven found his true calling behind the wheel of his 2015 Ford Fiesta ST2. Now, he’s turning heads, dropping jaws, and changing lives — starting with his own.

“Showing off the creation and showing others what I see with my car — that’s what it’s all about,” Steven says. “Everyone has different styles and it gives you a real window into who they are.”

Meet the Therapist: A Build with a Story

Steven’s Fiesta isn’t just another modified hatch — it’s an emotional outlet, a form of therapy, and a daily motivator.

Key mods include:

  • Whiteline 30mm lowering springs for that aggressive low stance
  • Blow-off valve (BOV) for all the glorious turbo noises
  • Upgraded air filter system
  • Stage 1 remap by Apex Tuning in Colchester
  • OZ Racing wheels to complete the look

Putting down 220bhp, Steven’s build is designed to be as much about emotional expression as it is about mechanical precision.

More Than a Car: Mental Health, Community & Purpose

For Steven, the ST2 isn’t just a machine — it’s a lifeline.

“When I’m having a hard time, just knowing I can drive away somewhere calm makes everything better,” he shares.

Steven has faced personal challenges, especially around mental health and negativity within communities, but he’s found resilience through cars and connection. A rep for Obsessed Brand and a proud member of South Fez Motorsport, Steven embodies what it means to lift others up, not tear them down.

“Don’t let anyone ever take your dreams away,” Steven reminds the Ford Fam. “If you have one, chase it — no matter how big or small.”

Looking Forward: New Names, Bigger Goals

With the car’s nickname soon switching from “The Therapist” to “ASBO,” Steven is gearing up for the next chapter. His future plans include:

  • Moving to Stage 2 tuning
  • Attending Ford Fair and TRAX
  • Simply building, smiling, and driving forward every step of the way

Long-term? There’s no end goal — just the daily victory of making something better, faster, and truly his own.

Final Words to the Ford Fam

“Thank you for being a safe place for all Ford owners to come together and respect everyone’s personal builds and visions,” Steven says.

In a world that often tries to tear people down, Steven’s story stands tall: Build what you love. Drive what you believe in. And never be afraid to dream bigger.
