When passion meets creativity, incredible things happen — and that’s exactly the case with Storm Oranzie and his stunning Ford Focus ST 225, fondly known as “Oceana.” Hailing from Cape Town, Storm’s journey into the world of Ford began at a young age, inspired by friends who owned Focus 225s. The thrill and feeling of being around these cars hooked him, setting the wheels in motion for what would become a remarkable build.

From Soldier to Car Enthusiast

By profession, Storm is a soldier — dedicated and disciplined. However, his heart beats faster for cars, driven by his passion and influenced by car games, movies like Fast and Furious, and friends who share his enthusiasm. To him, building Oceana was more than just modifying a car; it was about creating something unique, something that spoke to his vision and inspired others.

The love for stance culture plays a huge role in Storm’s build. He believes that the stance game, especially when it comes to Fords, is often underrated where he lives. It became his mission to build a stanced ST 225 that would stand out, not just in Cape Town but across South Africa.

Oceana: Blue and Gold Brilliance

The color scheme is where Oceana truly shines. Inspired by the rally aesthetic of a Subaru, Storm took the bold step to incorporate a blue and gold theme, a combination rarely seen on Fords in South Africa. The goal? To be the first to showcase this unique style, blending a performance look with show car aesthetics.

Performance is also key. Oceana’s engine upgrades include a custom 76mm exhaust system, 76mm downpipe, cold air intake, and a Turbo Smart DV. These enhancements push the power to an impressive 202kW and 421Nm. When it comes to handling, the car rides on ARC coilovers with Pirelli Cinturato P3 tires, providing stability and control. Stone brakes and TE 37 Volt Racing wheels complete the setup, making sure Oceana doesn’t just look good but also performs like a champ.

Building Trust and Finding the Right Support

Every build has its challenges, and for Storm, the biggest was finding people he could trust to work on his car. Initially, not everyone supported his vision, but instead of letting it hold him back, he made the tough decision to cut out the negativity. He surrounded himself with those who believed in his ideas, like his trusted mechanic, Anton Peters. The rest, as they say, is history.

Community and Recognition

Though not formally part of any car club, Storm’s presence in the scene is undeniable. One of his favorite memories is arriving late at a Cape Town event, only to be greeted by a crowd of admirers. Seeing the excitement on people’s faces — from kids to seasoned car enthusiasts — was a moment of pure pride. One young fan even expressed his dream of owning a car just like Oceana one day.

Future Plans for Oceana

Storm’s vision for Oceana isn’t complete just yet. Next on his list is an air suspension setup, allowing the car to sit even lower for that perfect stance. There’s also talk of a new color scheme, keeping the build fresh and dynamic. As for the long-term goal? Simply to continue building and enjoying the car — and seeing his dream evolve.

Advice for the Ford Fam

Storm’s advice for fellow Ford enthusiasts is simple yet powerful: “Be original, unique, and stick to the plan.” He believes that every build tells a story, and staying true to your vision is what sets you apart. Most importantly, he urges the community to support one another, especially in a world where negativity can easily take root.

Paving the Road Forward

For Storm, Oceana isn’t just a car — it’s a representation of resilience, passion, and pushing boundaries. From a little kid dreaming of owning a Ford to now having a build that turns heads wherever it goes, Storm’s journey is far from over. He’s still building, still dreaming, and most of all, still inspiring those around him.
