Ford Fam Feature: Yann Brun and His Track-Built Fiesta Mk7

Yann Brun’s passion for Fords began with his father and has grown into a full-blown project with his 2010 Ford Fiesta Mk7. Aiming to create a track weapon, his build features suspension upgrades, a custom body kit, and plans for atmospheric engine enhancements. Yann’s dedication to building a car that thrives in corners is a testament to his love for Ford.

For Yann Brun, cars have always been more than just a hobby—they’re a way of life. Growing up in Vallabrix Gard, Yann’s passion for cars, especially Fords, was shaped by his father, who always drove a Ford. This family influence, combined with the inspiration from automotive enthusiasts like Gmk, Akram, and La Boiserie, pushed Yann to pursue his automotive dreams.

His professional life as an artisan gives him the freedom to enjoy his car when he wants, making his Ford journey even more fulfilling.

From Stock to Track Weapon

Originally, Yann intended to keep his 2010 Ford Fiesta Mk7 stock. But like any true car enthusiast, his plans quickly escalated. What started as a simple car build turned into a quest to create a track-ready machine. The car, affectionately nicknamed “Toutoune”, is now far from stock, boasting a range of performance-oriented upgrades.

Performance Upgrades and Track-Ready Setup

Yann’s primary focus has been on the chassis and suspension, preparing his Fiesta for tight corners and spirited driving. The upgrades include:

  • DNA Anti-Roll and Strut Bars: Enhanced stability and cornering.
  • D2 Street Coilovers: Improved handling and lower center of gravity.
  • Upcoming Engine Mods: Air intake, camshafts, and exhaust manifold for more power.
  • Brakes and Wheels: Plans to install a big brake kit and ST rear axle, with ATS wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires.

With an estimated 140 horsepower, Yann’s Fiesta is set to become a true corner-carving machine. The biggest challenge so far was adapting the body kit, but with the help of a good friend and the right people, he managed to fit it perfectly.

A Passion That Drives Daily Life

Yann lives and breathes cars. When he’s not working, he’s talking about cars, searching for parts, or enjoying weekend drives with friends. One memorable moment in his car journey happened when he reconnected with an old friend, Dorian, during a spontaneous street encounter. They hadn’t seen each other since school, but after a thrilling drive, they became inseparable once more.

Building the Community Spirit

Although he isn’t officially part of any car clubs, Yann is passionate about connecting with other enthusiasts. His advice for fellow Ford owners?
“Nothing is impossible. Trust your car, have fun, and stay connected with communities and forums.”

Future Goals and Plans

Yann’s ultimate goal is to make his Fiesta a track weapon—a car built for corners. The next steps involve completing the atmospheric preparation and perfecting the chassis setup. With a long-term vision of building a car that dominates tight bends, Yann’s dedication is clear: Ford only.

Keeping the Ford Spirit Alive

Yann is passionate about maintaining his car’s legacy and ensuring it stands out in the Ford community. He believes that Fords are underrated, but those who know their potential understand why they’re special.
