Bailey Bassett’s love for cars was destined from the start. Growing up around his dad’s award-winning MK2 Focus RS, Bailey was immersed in car culture from a young age. This passion for Fords grew naturally, and when the time came to choose his own car, he landed on a 2014 Fiesta Titanium X, affectionately nicknamed “Blue”. Bailey’s goal? To build the best-looking and sounding Mk7 Fiesta 5-door in the UK.
Detailing and Dedication
Bailey’s profession may not revolve around cars, but his passion certainly does. A true enthusiast, he picked up his love for detailing from his dad. He spends his free time meticulously caring for his car, ensuring it’s always looking its best. Bailey has been driven to make “Blue” a standout show car while still keeping it practical for the street.
Inspired by his dad’s incredible build and motivated by the car community, Bailey has poured countless hours into his Fiesta. He’s also a part of multiple car groups, including Greenlight Clubs, Airtec, and FEZGXNG, where he finds inspiration and support.
Building the Best-Looking Mk7 Fiesta
Bailey’s vision for his Fiesta was clear: a show and street car that’s both aesthetically pleasing and uniquely his. To achieve this, he equipped his car with an ST-Line Bodykit to give it a sportier and more aggressive look. For the perfect stance, he opted for lowering springs (25mm front, 30mm rear) and upgraded the shock absorbers and top mounts for improved handling.
The engine setup is modest but effective. Bailey upgraded to a Stage 1 induction kit, including enhanced pipes to boost cooling. The WET BELT change ensured the car runs reliably, and the power figures saw a significant increase from 98hp and 150Nm stock to 151hp and 270Nm after the upgrade. The car now boasts a 0-60 time of 8 seconds.
Making a Statement with Style
One of the most striking elements of Bailey’s build is his attention to both style and sound. His Romac 17” alloys not only look sleek but complement the lowered suspension perfectly. Inside, Bailey is working on an upgraded sound system, which will further cement “Blue” as a show-worthy build.
Getting the ST-Line panels fitted proved challenging. Bailey had to consult friends to find the right solutions, but his persistence paid off, and the final look speaks for itself. One of his most rewarding moments was at a car show, where he connected with other enthusiasts who admired his build and offered encouragement.
Dealing with Challenges and Criticism
Every build has its ups and downs, and for Bailey, it wasn’t just technical challenges but also dealing with criticism. “There was a lot of hate,” he admits. But with support from the community, family, and friends, he overcame the negativity and focused on building his car his way. His advice to others in the community? “If you don’t try, you won’t learn.”
Future Plans for “Blue”
Bailey’s far from done with his Fiesta. Next on the list are sound system upgrades, a custom steering wheel, ST rear axle, and adding carbon interior bits. His ultimate goal is simple but ambitious: to have the cleanest and best-looking 5-door Fiesta in the UK.
A Message to the Ford Fam
Bailey wants to remind everyone that no matter what car you have, it’s all about how you take care of it. “People hate on the 1L EcoBoost engines, but if you maintain them properly, they’ll run like a dream.”
His advice to the community: “Don’t let others’ negative comments get to you. It’s your car, not theirs. Build it the way you want.”
